Pakistani soldier stoned to death over romance; girlfriend may be shot
Wed Mar 13, 2013
I don't know if it's a translation thing or not, but I found it very odd - and telling - that they referred to a 27-year-old male as a "boy"...it's impossible for me to fathom such a profound lack of respect for an individual's right to conduct their own personal life.
Pope Francis: Argentina's Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio is new Catholic leader
Wed Mar 13, 2013
I think they made their decision right away, but are delaying the announcement for the sake of drama. In the meantime, they're all sitting around the poker table, and every now and then one will say "okay, I think we should send up another smoke signal"...

American cardinals fall silent amid Vatican concern at media leaks

I'll have you know the cardinals in my neighborhood are NOT silent. I heard one singing just the other morning. It is almost spring, after all.
Police investigating facility after nurse refuses to do CPR

In reply to: WalkWithMeInHell #3 It was explained in the article. This particular vaccine uses live virus - NOT smallpox, but the related vaccinia (cowpox), which is incidently the first vaccine ever developed and the origin of the word. Most modern vaccines don't use live organisms, but …
'God held me': Coming back from the brink of death is possible, says doctor
Tue Feb 26, 2013
Have you read many NDE accounts? The vast majority of the time, they DON'T want to come back, and many times their first reaction on revival is rage at the medical personnel who saved them.
Doubleheader funeral after husband dies on way to wife's wake
Fri Feb 22, 2013
Phantom, how is this a sad story? I see just the opposite. Everyone dies, and it seems that this man died with very little suffering, on his own terms, after a very long life and marriage, to be with the one he apparently couldn't live without.
Spontaneous combustion looked at as cause of Oklahoma death
Wed Feb 20, 2013
That may be true, but the temperature/pressure needed for autoignition of any common material would not be encountered in anyone's kitchen. Hell's kitchen, maybe.

Are they really trying to attract mates at that age? Isn't that the point of makeup?
